Łowicz County (Powiat Łowicki) was created on the 1st of January 1999 as a result of the second post-war administrative reform. It consists of the town of Łowicz and 9 landed administrative units called communes (gmina). The County is governed by the County’s Council which features legislative and controlling functions. It consists of 21 members who serve 4 year terms. For a complete listing of all Council members, please click here. The District’s Board is an executive organ with a Foreman (Starosta) as its chairman. It also consists of a Vice-Foreman (Wicestarosta) and one Board Member.
